AC Monza is an Italian professional football club based in the city of Monza, Lombardy. The club was founded on September 1st, 1912 as Monza Foot Ball Club and has since undergone several name changes before settling on its current name in 1976.
Throughout its history, AC Monza has experienced both highs and lows. In the early years, they played mainly regional matches until joining Serie C (the third tier of Italian football) for the first time in their history during the 1934-35 season. They have since moved up and down between different divisions but have never managed to reach Italy's top-flight league.
In recent times though, there seems to be a resurgence at AC Monza with ambitious plans set out by new owners Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani who acquired majority ownership rights in September 2018. With these new owners came significant investments that saw them sign high-profile players like Kevin Prince Boateng from Barcelona FC among others.
Overall, despite not having won any major titles yet; AC Monza remains one of Italy's most historic clubs with a rich heritage dating back over a century ago when it all began as "Monzese".
